De dier-industrie stoot enorm veel ammoniak, stikstof en methaan uit (1 - 4) en er zijn veel schadelijke bacteriën (5). 

Dit lijdt tot longproblemen voor omwonenden (1, 5, 6) en vergroot zelfs de kans op overlijden (3, 7)
